SUBJECT: Consider Application for Raffle by Sue
Bailey
Sue Bailey has made application for an exemption from lawful gambling. The
application is made through the Elk River Chamber of Commerce. The request is to
hold a benefit raffle on July 17th at the American Legion.
Ms. Bailey has requested that the City Council wave the 30 day waiting period that
is required by the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. Waiving the 30 day period
allows the Board to issue the permit before the 30 days, which is allowed for council
action.

Council motion to approve the application for exempt permit to allow the Elk River
Chamber of Commerce/Sue Bailey to hold a raffle on July 17th, and to waive the 30
day waiting period.
