ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
CREATING A HERITAGE
PRESERVATION COMMISSION
AND OVERLAY ZONING
DISTRICT (Case #s OA 99-6,
99-7, 99-8, & 99-9)
The Planning Commission reviewed the issues regarding the creation of a Heritage
Preservation Commission in Elk River at their May 25, 1999 meeting. They are
supportive of a Heritage Preservation Commission being established, but requested
several modifications to the specific language contained in the ordinance amendments
proposed.

The Planning Commission will review the revised ordinance amendments dealing with
the establishment of a Heritage Preservation Commission at their June meeting.
Therefore, the Council should table these requests until their July 19, 1999 meeting.
