SUBJECT: Boys and Girls Club Update
Councilmember Thompson is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Elk
River Boys and Girls Club. Councilmember Motin is also on the Board of
Directors. The Lions Club is working with this organization for the
construction of a facility in the city-owned Lions Park. The Boys and Girls
Club is moving forward with its fundraising efforts for this project and the
building is under construction.

I believe that the last legal document between the city, the Boys and Girls
Club, and the banks was signed and executed on Tuesday, June 15, 1999, and
that bank financing for the project was also finalized on that date.
The Board of Directors met on Thursday, June 10, 1999. Councilmember
Thompson and/or Motin should be able to provide everyone with an update on
the status of this project at this June 21, 1999, City Council meeting.
