Approve,by motion, Change Order No. 1 for the 2017 Street Improvement project.
Background/Discussion
Extremely competitive pricing realized on the 2017 Street Improvement contract has allowed staff to
review and consider moving forward future scheduled maintenance projects. We reviewed all segments of
roadways scheduled for maintenance in 2019 and are recommending moving two project areas ahead for
maintenance under this year's contract. The project areas are as follows:
■ Palmer 1"Addition—The segment of Riverview Drive in this development is proposed to receive
minor patching, an edge mill and overlay (1.5 inches of new bituminous pavement).
■ Nordic Woods — The streets in this development are recommended to receive minor curb
patching, an edge mill and overlay (1.5 inches of new bituminous pavement).
Financial Impact
Change Order No. 1 will increase the 2017 Street Improvement contract by$101,722.24 to a total of
$3,879,357.22. Additionally, the change will result in $15,258.60 of increased engineering and testing
costs. If the change is approved, the project will still remain below our projected investment level of
$4,480,000 as detailed in the Capital Improvement Plan.
