SUBJECT: Boys and Girls Club Update
Councilmember Thompson is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Elk
River Boys and Girls Club. Councilmember Motin is also on the Board of
Directors. The Board has appointed John Fitzgerald as its executive director.
The Lions Club is working with this organization on the construction of a
facility in the city-owned Lions Park. The building is nearing completion and
the Boys and Girls Club is continuing with its fundraising efforts for this
construction project and for operating revenues.

Councilmember Thompson and/or Motin should be able to provide everyone
with an update on the status of this project at this July 19, 1999, City
Council meeting.
