PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
TOWN OF ELK RIVER
March 13, 1923
The annual town meeting was held at the Courthouse in the Village of Elk River. Meeting called to
order by the Clerk at 10:00 o’clock a.m. Fred Sacks was chosen Moderator and the reports of the
Board of Audit, Town Clerk and Treasurer were read and on motion allowed.
The following sums were voted to be raised by taxation for the coming year:
Town Revenue Fund $400.00
Town Road & Bridge Fund $2000.00
Ditch Fund $1866.71
No levy was made for Poor Fund.
On motion it was voted to pay the Assessor $100.00 for assessing the personal property in the town
this year.
The polls were then opened and the following officers were elected by ballot. There were twenty-
nine ballots each.
B.A. Gray received 28 votes for Supervisor and was declared elected.
R.R. Simpson received 29 votes for Town Clerk and was declared elected.
E.G. Palmer received 28 votes for Town Treasurer and was declared elected.
Dale Felix received 25 votes for Assessor and was declared elected.
E.W. Dickey & Carl Engstrom each received 29 votes for Justice of the Peace and were declared
elected.
