Athletic Complexes
Damage to the backstops and fencing at the Dave Anderson Athletic Complex from the June storms
has been repaired and all four softball fields are now back in use.
Staff is working on midsummer repairs to the Oak Knoll Athletic Complex football and lacrosse fields.
Staff is installing new sod to the goal areas of the lacrosse fields in preparation for the start of football
on both fields as well as striping the fields for football.
Staff continues to work on finishing the inside of the Youth Athletic Complex concession building. The
upstairs of the building was never finished and a leaking roof had caused damage to the ceiling. Staff
has made the necessary repairs to the roof and replaced damaged sheetrock, installed wood trim and
mudded and taped all of the drywall. Staff will paint the interior of the building as time permits.
Trail Projects
Construction of the trail segment near the library was completed in July and the contractor has begun
work on the trail segments at Kliever Lake Fields and the north side of the Ice Arena. Both sections of
new trail are anticipated to be complete in August.
Barrington Park Playground
Replacement of the Barrington Park playground was completed this week and staff will be installing the
new playground woodchips with the intent to have the playground open to the public by August 11. A
new ADA accessible concrete sidewalk was added from Auburn Place NW to the playground as well as
two picnic table slabs in the park. Public input has been very positive with many residents stopping by
to thank staff and the city for providing the new facility.
