DISCUSSION:
• In July, The Locating department had a total of 423 locate tickets consisting of four
emergency tickets, 12 cancellations, 8 meetings, 348 normal tickets and 45 updated
tickets. This is a 29%decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month.
• Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks,
hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as
delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. Staff has been setting up
testing procedures for recloser controls. Staff also continues with meter audits through
the system. Meters for acquisition Areas 3 and 4 are expected to arrive around the end of
August.
• The power plant staff did the monthly engine run in the last week of July. All engines ran
well with no problems. Westmor Fluid Solutions was brought in to replace a leaking fuel
line on Engine 3 on July 20.
• Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our
systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Staff reports that mapping of
electric surface structures is about 75%complete. Transformers are about 45%complete
and poles are around 40%complete.
• Attended the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency(MMPA)Annual Meeting on July 25
at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Had the opportunity to tour Shakopee Energy Park and
learn about the 46 MW peaking plant and how it fits in with MMPA's power supply
portfolio.
