• Well#6 was pulled for maintenance as the discharge capacity of the well had decreased
by over 300 gpm over the last couple of years. After pulling the well,we discovered that
one of the bowls was severely worn and the rest were due to be replaced. The well is
scheduled to be reinstalled sometime this week. Originally Well#9 was the one due to be
pulled for scheduled maintenance in 2017.
• We received our report from the leak detection company for all of the hydrants east of
Highway 169. We discovered that there were 17 hydrants leaking. We have repaired all
of the hydrants that are located in the public right-of-way. I will be working with owners
of the private hydrants that were identified as leaking.
• The water operators have completed the gate valve maintenance for the year, which
included operating and inspecting over 350 gate valves. This figure includes all of the
valves located in street project areas. Before the winter, water operators will go back and
repair any valves that require maintenance.
