Review Arena financial information.
Background/Discussion
On Monday August 7, 2018, the City Council voted to move forward with a Request for Proposal for
architectural services for the remodeling and expansion of the ice arena.
If remodeling proceeds next spring, we will have to look closely at the construction schedule to
determine the impact it will have on the ice schedule and if there’s a way to keep both sheets of ice
operational in the fall.

Elk River Ice Arena Milestone Schedule
The following schedule was put together with the assistance of RJM Construction. To be able to start
construction in the spring (2018), the project will need to bid by February 1, 2018. This will require an
accelerated design schedule, completing the design work in 4.5 months instead of 6 months for a
project of this scope.
