ElI( From: Date: Police Department Subject: Safe & Sober Resolution As you are already aware, we have received preliminary approval for the Safe & Sober funding for the grant year of2000. We have received a grant of $34,000, of which, approximately $30,000 is for overtime enforcement and $4,000 is for equipment and administrative costs. The City of Elk River Police Department will receive approximately one-third of these funds. The accompanying 'Resolution' is the documentation that the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety requires of each agency. This resolution authorizes the execution of the agreement made between the City of Elk River and the Office of Traffic Safety. . The resolution further authorizes Chief Zerwas to implement the project on behalf of the Elk River Police Department and to be the fiscal agent and to be the lead agency that administers the grant to the other agencies involved. . 13065 Orono Parkway. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT Be it resolved that the Elk River Police Department enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety for the project entitled SAFE & SOBER COMMUNITIES during the period from October 1, 1999 through September 30,2000. Chief Thomas Zerwas is hereby authorized to execute such agreements and amendments as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the Elk River Police Department and to be the fiscal agent and administer the grant.
