Background/Discussion At their September 11, 2017, meeting, the Beautification Committee reviewed three applications and after scoring each, recommends approval of the following businesses:  Heritage Construction with the award for making substantial improvements to the exterior of their building in the last year. Owner, Andy Christensen will accept the award.  Cretex Companies in recognition of consistently maintaining their property in an attractive and well-kept manner. Dave Anderson will accept the award. Call Meeting to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the EDA Beautification Committee was called to order at 10:02 a.m. 2. Consider Agenda Motion by Hardin and seconded by Bakken to approve the agenda. Motion carried 5-0. 3.0 Consent Agenda Motion by Magnussen and seconded by McCormick to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 5-0. 4.1 Review City Beautification Applications Ralphie’s Minnoco Ms. Eddy presented the application and confirmed the nomination description. Members completed the judging rubric. Cretex Ms. Eddy presented the application and confirmed the nomination description. Members completed the judging rubric. American Family- Bonnie Koste Agency Ms. Eddy presented the application and confirmed the nomination description. Members completed the judging rubric. Motion by Bakken and seconded by Ackerman to award American Family Insurance – Bonnie Koste Agency with the award for consistently maintaining their property in an attractive and well-kept manner. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by Bakken and seconded by Ackerman to award Ralphie’s Minnoco with the award for making substantial improvements to the exterior of their building and/or landscape in the last year. Motion carried 5-0. 5.1 Announcements Ms. Eddy reinforced the committee to encourage businesses to apply for a Beautification award. Ms. Ackerman asked the group if they were available to visit Spikes and Abra on Tuesday the 15th at 3:15pm. The majority of members stated that they would be available to visit. Ms. Eddy notified admin staff of the potential quorum who in turn submitted a public notice of quorum. 6. Adjournment Motion by Hardin and seconded by Ackerman to adjourn the meeting at 10:35 a.m. Motion carried 5-0. Background/Discussion The City Beautification Committee serves to recognize business owners, whom have made an effort to clean, repair, improve, and enhance the overall aesthetics of their property to maintain the beauty of their neighborhood. This committee encourages community improvements which enhance our city’s visual image and economic vitality. Heritage Construction has been nominated to receive the following award: 1.
