SUBJECT: Exercise Equipment Purchase
The city has an ongoing need to upgrade its exercise equipment in order to meet the
needs of our employees. As we all know, healthy employees make for a productive
workforce, fewer insurance claims, and less use of sick time. The city has always
been a big supporter of employee wellness programs, and to that end, has always
been a supporter of good quality and appropriate wellness equipment.

Please see the attached quote that fitness instructor Ron Nierenhausen obtained
regarding replacing an older, non-used treadmill with a newer model. The wellness
room gets much more use during the winter months than the summer months and
the treadmill is the most used piece of equipment, so replacing this treadmill now is
appropriate.
Staff supports this requested purchase and the source of funds for this expenditure
would be the city insurance fund.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the purchase of the exercise
equipment with funding to come from the city insurance fund.

(1) Deposit with order; net cash balance shall be paid by buyer upon receipt of merchandise.
(2) There will be a 20% restocking charge on merchandise ordered but not accepted.
(3) Ownership is retained by PUSH PEDAL PULL until PUSH PEDAL PULL is paid in full for the merchandise
listed hereon. If buyer pays the seller by check, the seller retains title until the check is finally paid.
(4) Clerical errors subject to correction. All prices and agreements are contingent upon strikes. accidents
and other causes unavoidable or beyond our control. Cosignee agrees to file claim for all goods damaged in transit.
