The Council shall recognize and accept the “Towards Zero Deaths Outstanding Agency” award
presented to the Elk River Police Department by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety/Office of
Traffic Safety.
Background/Discussion
The Elk River Police Department has been named the “Towards Zero Deaths Outstanding Agency” for
promoting traffic safety through enforcement and partnership activities by the Minnesota Department of
Public Safety/Office of Traffic Safety and has been awarded four pieces of law enforcement equipment.
Four Intoximeter Alco-Sensor IV portable breath testing instruments will be presented at the October 2,
2017, Council meeting.
Financial Impact
As part of this award the Elk River Police Department will receive four Intoximeter Alco-Sensor IV
portable breath testing instruments valued at $2,300.00.
