ACTION REQUESTED:
Receive letter from Kissimmee Utility Authority regarding Mutual Aid
DISCUSSION:
On September 9,ERMU responded to a request for mutual aid in Florida through the Minnesota
Municipal Utilities Association(MMUA). The call for mutual aid was for anticipated storm
recovery work that would be needed in the wake of Hurricane Irma. ERMU deployed a crew of
two lineworkers who worked to restore power in the areas Kissimmee and Lake Worth, Florida.
The ERMU lineworkers responding were Scott Thoreson and Matt Schwartz. Scott and Matt
returned home safety on September 21.
Attached is a thank you letter from Kissimmee Utility Authority.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
ERMU is reimbursed for all costs associated with mutual aid from the host utility.

accept our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks for your help in restoring power to our community
following Hurricane Irma. Irma left more than 38,000 of our customers without power. But thanks to
your community we were able to quickly restore power to many of the homes and businesses within our
service area.
We are grateful for the dedication of every employee who took time away from their families and
traveled many miles to help restore power to our community. We truly appreciate your support and
