Request
Interview Planning Commission applicants and appoint applicant to fill two positions on
the Planning Commission.
Analvsis
.
Two Planning Commissioners have resigned in 1999: Doran Cote and Lester Morris.
Commissioner Cote's term expires February 2000 and Commissioner Morris' term
expires February 2001.
Four applications were received (attached). The following table summarizes the
information on the applications:

Staff recommends that the City Council interview each candidate. The Council may
then appoint candidates for two, one or none of the vacancies. The Current has an
advertisement calling for volunteers for all of the upcoming Commission vacancies and
interviews will again be scheduled for January 2000.
We have been informed that applicant Pederson will be out of state on vacation and will
be unable to attend the interview.
