SUBJECT: Library Board Interviews
.
The Library Board has two members whose terms will expire on
December 31, 1999. Murray McNair has informed the City that he
will not be seeking reappointment. Murray served on the Board
since January of 1994. Geraldine Graham has indicated that she is
interested in seeking reappointment to the Library Board.
Geraldine was appointed in January 1999 to complete an existing
member's term. The City has also received an application from Mike
Hangaard who is requesting appointment to the Board.
Geraldine and Mike will be present on Monday evening for the
council to interview.

It's important for community members to use their skills and talents for the common good.
I've had a lifelong interest in libraries and literacy and believe that the skills I've honed over
the years can be an asset for our community's library. Many of the skills and interests that
I've developed over the years are a good fit for a position on the library board. I have formal
education and past work experience in public libraries and as a teacher of reading and
English. In addition, for 20 years I served on the management team of a large not.for.profit
organization where I gained knowledge and skills on agency management and fund-raising.
