PURCHASE OF TACTICAL BODY ARMOR AND LASER
RADAR
This is to inform the city Council that we will be using drug
forfeiture and DUI forfeiture funds to purchase tactical vests
for the swat team and a laser radar for our patrol officers.
The tactical vests will cost approximately $6,000 for six (6)
vests. The older and much heavier vests will be utilized by
being placed in the patrol vehicles rather than in the swat van.
The laser radar will cost approximately $4,200 and will purchased
with $1,200 in grant money and approximately $3,000 in DUI
forfeiture funds.
The forfeiture funds have restrictions on what may be purchased
with the money. All items being purchased area allowable
purchases.
