02-13-1995 CC MIN - SPECIAL e SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1995 Members Present: Vice Mayor Scheel: Councilmembers Holmgren and Farber Members Absent: Mayor Duitsman and Councilmember Dietz Staff Present: Pat Klaers. Call Meetina To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. the special meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Vice Mayor Scheel. 2. Consider February 13, 1995, City Council Agenda It was the consensus of the City Council to approve the February 13, 1995, agenda. 3. Consider Consent Agenda e COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS FOLLOWS: 4.1. JANUARY 23, 1995 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MINUTES -- APPROVED 4.2. JANUARY 23, 1995, EXECUTIVE SESSION CITY COUNCIL MINUTES--APPROVED 4.3. JANUARY 30, 1995 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MINUTES n APPROVED 6.1. CAll SPECIAL JOINT FIRE DEPARTMENT/CITY COUNCIL MEETING FOR MARCH 6, 1995, n APPROVED 6.2. CALL SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FOR STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS ON MARCH 21, 1995 n APPROVED 7. CHECK REGISTER -- APPROVED COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 5. Library Board Candidates The City Clerk indicated that the City has received applications from two people indicating their interest in serving on the Library Board. She stated that following John Dietz's resignation from the Library Board there will be two vacancies - one two-year term and one three-year term. The City Council interviewed the two applicants for the Library Board - Linda Ritchie and Ellen Kretsch. e COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE JOHN DIETZ'S RESIGNATION FROM THE LIBRARY BOARD. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. Special City Council Meeting February 13, 1995 Page 2 ...-- -_..... -- -.---. --- ---.---..-- e COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPOINT ELLEN KRETSCH TO THE LIBRARY BOARD FOR A THREE YEAR TERM EXPIRING ON DECEMBER 31, 1998, AND TO APPOINT LINDA RITCHIE TO THE LIBRARY BOARD FOR A TWO- YEAR TERM EXPIRING ON DECEMBER 31, 1996. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 8. Adiournment There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING.
