I. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City Council
was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Dietz.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
3. Arena Design Team Interviews
Council interviewed potential candidates for the ice arena design team as outlined in
the staff report.
Council thanked everyone for their interest in participating
Councilmember Wagner inquired if the Council would be interested in appointing
more than one public representative to the design team.
Mayor Dietz noted the Council already approved motions appointing one public
representative and one business representative.
Councilmember Westgaard stated it can get more difficult and challenging to keep a
project moving forward when more people are involved.
Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember
Westgaard to appoint Gunther Sagan as the Parks and Recreation
Commission representative for the ice arena design team. Motion carried 4-0.
Moved by Councilmember Westgaard and seconded by Councilmember
Wagner to appoint Dave Williams as the resident -at -large representative for
the ice arena design team. Motion carried 3-0. Mayor Dietz abstained citing
conflict of interest.

Moved by Councihnember Westgaard and seconded by Councihnember
Wagner to appoint Kevin Bergstrom as the business representative for the ice
arena design team. Motion carried 4-0.
Council thanked everyone again for their interest in this appointment and asked that
they continue to keep involved with the process in some capacity.
4. Adjournment
There being no further business, Mayor Dietz adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River City Council at 6:03 p.m.
