ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
May 5, 1944
The Town Board of Elk River Twp. met in special session with all members present at the office of
Robert Hastings.
Present: \[not listed\]
Object of meeting was to secure legal advice concerning proceedings in the case of Emil Hoffman,
Plaintiff versus the Supervisors of the Town of Elk River Defendant. Upon examination, legal
consel \[sic\] found that the matter was not a legal Court summons and that the Board was not
required to appear in Court. Legal advice was also asked concerning laying a road into a farm where
an easment \[sic\] as a means of exit was in force. Legal opinion was that the Board did have the
authority to lay a town road into this farm.
No further business Board adjourned.
