Field Services Facility Expansion Project
ACTION REQUESTED:

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Staff has been working with City of Elk River and Kjolhaug Environmental to relocate the
wetlands located at the Field Services Facility.Now that the wetland relocation has been
approved,we'll be purchasing the wetland credits from The City of Elk River before the end of
the year. One of the wetland relocation stipulations is that the expansion is completed within five
years; if not,we would need to go back and get re-approval for the relocation.
The Field Services Expansion Workgroup has been working with Kodet Architectural Group in
order to determine a schedule for the expansion. At the meeting on October 23 we discussed the
phasing of the project and the best options for working on our site while the construction takes
place.
The workgroup will be meeting with Kodet on November 20 to discuss further planning options.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There will be significant financial impact in the future. It is unknown at this time in which year
we'll begin construction.
