EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL
MONDAY, APRIL 26, 1993
Members Present:
Mayor Duitsman, Councilmembers Dietz, Scheel, Farber,
and Holmgren
Members Absent:
None
Staff Present:
Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Sandra Thackeray, City
Clerk; Peter Beck, City Attorney
10. Executive Session of the City Council
Mayor Duitsman called the Executive session of the City Council to
order at 8:40 p.m.
10.1 Discussion of Pending Litigation of Hohlen Easement Acquisition
Peter Beck, City Attorney, reviewed the pending litigation of the
Hohlen easement. He indicated that the litigation is on hold at the
present time and that he will keep the Council informed of any further
development.
10.2 Discussion of Police Union Contract Negotiations
The City Administrator informed the Council that he has met with the
Union Representatives as directed by Council in an attempt to settle
the Police Union Contract. He indicated that the offer he made was
refused by the union. The Council discussed the offer made by the City
Administrator and authorized the City Administrator to continue
negotiations.
10.2.5.City Planner
The City Attorney indicated that because the discussion of employment
applicants is not listed under the Open Meeting Law, it would be best
not to discuss this issue at a closed meeting, but to discuss it at an
open meeting and withhold the names of the applicants.
10.3 Adjournment
There being no further issue, COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN
THE EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
