ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING
June 1, 1948
The Town Board of the township of Elk River met in joint session with the board of Burns
township with all members present. The land owners were also present.

Oscar Engstrom was appointed as chairman of the meeting. The petition to lay out a four (4) rod
road on the line was accepted. \[This sentence noted in margin:\] Road between sect 1-33-26 and
6-33-25\[.\] The land owners agreed to ask no damages also to move fences. It was left up to boards
to locate corners.
It was decided that the following culverts are needed.
1 - 16’ long
30” diameter
2 - 28’ long
15” diameter
Lester Rootes suggested having Archie Johnson make an estimate and report approx. cost of
building road.
The board went to view the two rods purchased from Fred Nickerson for road purposes. Then to
office of Howard Wakefield to have deed made out for same.
