PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
TOWN OF ELK RIVER
March 8, 1949
The town board of the township of Elk River met at 9 o’clock A.M. for twp election. The meeting
was called to order by Clerk and Mrs. A.L. Powell was appointed Moderator.
The treasurers report was read and accepted. The following levies was voted. Road and bridge fund
8. Mills or $1808.00 No revenue levies were voted. The assessors salary was voted at seven ($7.00)
dollars per day
The results of the election were as follows. Oscar Engstrom for three years for supervisor,
E.G. Palmer treasurer 2 years, A.L. Powell assessor 2 years, and Everett Rathbun Clerk one (1) year.
Gilbert Goenner was elected as supervisor for soil conservation district.
