Mr Ed Wolters and Harold LeVander appeared before the town board as representatives of Rural
Cooperative Power Ass’n and stated that the State Hiway Dept and County Board had vacated and
abandoned the piece of road abutting on their property next to the railroad right of way. They stated
that no records seemed available as to whether it had ever been a township road but in order to have
no doubt they desired a resolution by the town board abandoning or vacating the portion. The town
board wanted assurance that the telephone line of the Riverview telepone \[sic\] Corporation would
still be allowed to run their line over the property. The representative of Rural Power stated they
would give a permit to occupy their poles which were to be put in along the side track. They also
wanted permission to do some grading pending the action on a formal petition to vacate. Thereafter
the following resolution be adopted,
Be it resolved that pending the filing of a formal petition to vacate the road \[over?\] which
the board may or may not have jurisdiction that the board has no objection to the cooperative doing
such grading as may be necessary to install their side track over the place where the road is now
located.
