Approve,by motion, the purchase of a 2018 Elgin Pelican Dual Gutter Broom Sweeper.
Background/Discussion
The 2018 Elgin Pelican Dual Gutter Broom Sweeper will replace Unit 316, a 2005 Pelican sweeper. The
total cost for the purchase of the Pelican sweeper with optional components is $220,661 with a trade-in
value for the 2005 unit of$15,000;resulting in a final state contract purchase price of$205,661.
Financial Impact
The total cost of the equipment with optional components is $205,661 after trade-in of the existing
sweeper. The estimated replacement cost in the approved 2018 Equipment Replacement Fund was
$175,000. The remaining balance of$30,661 will be covered through savings on other Park and Street
Division equipment,which were below estimated costs.
