Background/Discussion
The City Council interviewed and appointed commission members at the February 20 meeting. Mr. Bell
and Mr. Hanson were not in attendance at that meeting. Their interviews were rescheduled to the March
5 meeting.
There is one vacancy on the Utilities Commission. The position is a three-year term beginning
immediately and expiring February 28, 2021.

I have always felt it is important to give back to church and
community by using my time and abilities to help out. I am
starting to wind down my career and am looking for
opportunities that make use of my talents and skills that have
made me successful in my career.

benchmarking program for our District currently and just won
an award from B3 for the highest percentage energy savings
for a school district in the last year. I work with Xcel energy and
Centerpoint energy to maximize energy rebates for the District
by converting to LED lighting, adjusting HVAC controls and
recommissioning our schools, doing steam trap studies, and
boiler tune ups. I work with the City of Big Lake for our water
and sewer and other public works needs so I have experience
working with local municipality utilities also. I was BOMA
certified, have a Chief C boiler license and am a certified pool
operator. These are all areas that involve energy usage. I
believe my background gives me a unique perspective that
would be valuable serving on the utilities commission.

advocate for unicipal utilities and feel it is a unique and valuabl part of our community.
