The Board of Canvass discussed future redistricting of the City after
the final census data becomes available. The City needs to redistrict
for voting purposes due to the substantial population growth the
community has experienced. Discussion also took place regarding
additional polling places and the possibility of City election Wards
being further divided into precincts. This further subdivision of the
Wards would allow for less waiting at the polling places during
elections.
The City Council commented on how smoothly the election went when
considering the changes in the Governor's race. The Council
congratulated the City Clerk, Sandy Thackeray, on her good work in
managing the election.
The 1990 municipal General Election results showed that Mayor Tralle
was reelected; Councilmember Holmgren was reelected; and John Dietz
defeated Peter Kimball for the Ward 1 Councilmember position.
COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 90-61, A RESOLUTION
CANVASSING THE 11/6/90 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS.
