SR 03-19-2018Request for Action To Item Number Mayor and City Council 8.1 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Work Session March 19, 2018 Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director Item Description Reviewed by Trails Master Plan Cal PortnerI City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested Adopt, by motion, the Trails Master Plan as an addendum to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Background/Discussion City Council reviewed and discussed the Trails Master Plan at their March 5, 2018, Work Session. Based on that discussion, City Council directed staff to make two changes: ■ Extend the trail north of 181" Avenue east to Cleveland Street. Add the portion of existing trail to the map from Twin Lakes Road to Hillside City Park. The updated plan will be an addendum to the current Parks and Recreation Master Plan replacing Figure 5.6 (page 56) in the master plan. The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed and recommended the final plan at their February 14, 2018 meeting. The Commission worked on the plan since January of 2017. The plan includes input and comments from city staff, Sherburne County, and MNDOT.
