SUBJECT: 1994 BUDGET
The 1994 General Fund Budget must be certified to the County by
September 15, 1993 . In this regard, staff will be formulating
its budget projections in July and early August and will be
holding budget worksessions with the City Council in later
August. The General Fund budget has typically included a
Planning Commission Department budget. In 1994 , this Planning
Commission Department Budget will be combined with the staff
planning budget.
The Planning Commission budget typically provides finances for
Planning Commission members to attend a national conference,
state and local workshops/conferences and to obtain any
appropriate training materials plus paying for dues or
subscriptions . Traditionally, the national conference ends up
getting deleted and national conference attendance by Planning
Commission members ends up being financed through the City
Council Contingency fund. This request starts off in the
Planning Commission budget, but is typically deleted as we
attempt to balance proposed revenues with expenditures .
However, generally speaking, Planning Commission members have
always been allowed to attend a national conference.
When taking into consideration the budget time frame, it is
appropriate that the Commission reviews proposed 1994
expenditures during its July Commission meeting. If you have

Commission Budget or any proposed 1994 expenditures, please
