OVERVIEW
Mr. Draxler is requesting a conditional use permit to construct
an accessory structure greater than 1,000 square feet in size.
The proposed structure would measure 28x42 ( 1, 176 square
feet) . Elk River City Code requires that any non-agricultural
accessory structure greater than 1, 000 square feet in size must
go through the conditional use permit process .
The accessory structure will be made of wood lap siding, and
asphalt roof shingles to match the existing home. The
structure will be located immediately to the west of the
existing home and 46 1/2 feet from the neighboring lot line
(see attached site plan) .
Mr. Draxler has indicated that he will use the building
primarily for storage of his band equipment. In addition, he
has also stated that he will have a small hobby-type wood
working shop.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff feels this request meets the seven standards for a
conditional use permit as outlined in Section 900 . 2 of the Elk
River City Code of Ordinances, and is recommending approval of
this conditional use permit request to construct a 1, 176 square
foot non-agricultural accessory structure with the following
condition:
1 . THE COLOR AND MATERIAL OF THE ACCESSORY STRUCTURE
MATCH THE EXTERIOR OF THE EXISTING HOUSE .
