Presentation and Acknowledgment of donation from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball.
Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging a donation from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball for the
enhancement of the basketball court at Lion John Weicht Park.
Background/Discussion
This resolution acknowledges and accepts a donation of $13,400 from Elk River Boys Youth Basketball
(ERBYB) for the purchase and installation of four new basketball hoops and four new lights to enhance
the existing basketball courts at Lion John Weicht Park.
The existing court and hoops at Lions Park are no longer of a condition that attracts a high level use.
This donation, combined with the scheduled resurfacing of the court in 2019 will revitzlize this park
amenity to a higher standard. ERBYB does not program games on the courts but desires an amenity in
the community to foster love of the game through general play and pick up games.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River received a $13,400 total donation from Elk River Elks
Basketball with the intent it be used by Parks and Recreation Department for enhancement
of the existing basketball courts at Lion John Weicht Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Elk River Elks Basketball for their
donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
______________, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
