Request
Chambers Investment Company/Elk River Brick & Stone is requesting a
conditional use permit for an addition to an existing industrial facility and to
construct a detached storage building.
Location
• The northwest corner of County Road No. 1 and Watson Avenue.

Overview
The applicant provided staff with the enclosed set of plans on Thursday, April
23rd in the afternoon. Unfortunately, this did not give staff enough time to
review the plans and therefore, do not have a complete analysis ready for the
Planning Commission.
I have made the plans available in case the applicant would like to walk
• through the plans with the Planning Commission to discuss his proposal. If

• the Planning Commission would like to take action on this application, staff
will try to be prepared to offer any conditions that may be part of the
conditional use permit. As the Commission knows, this is not the typical
manner in which we would like to deal with conditional use permits;
however, since I was unable to get a hold of the applicant prior to this memo
being sent out, I wanted to include in the packet for Commission
consideration.
Recommendation
It is recommended the Planning Commission postpone action on the request
by Elk River Brick & Stone until the May 26th Planning Commission
meeting. If the Commission would like to take action on the request, staff
will be prepared to offer possible conditions as part of approval.
