Meeting
I hope everyone had a happy holiday and enjoyable new year. As we embark
upon 1998, a year in which I'm sure will be filled with exciting development
projects, it is time to look forward and plan this year's Planning
Commission's events. This year's annual Planning Commission meeting is
scheduled for Saturday, January 17th, at 8:30 a.m. at Elk River City Hall
in the administrative conference room. Morning treats along with your
favorite fruit juices and coffee will be provided for Saturday morning's
meeting.
• Attached is an agenda very similar to previous years along with backup
information which will be used during the discussion. I have also included a
publication put out by the Metropolitan Council entitled, "Council Directions"
for the Planning Commission to review. In addition is a copy of Chapter 16
from the League of Minnesota Cities' booklet discussing comprehensive
planning and land use issues. This is a worthwhile publication the
Commission may wish to refer to occasionally.
If any of the Commission members have questions about the agenda or would
like to have items added, please let me know in advance of the meeting so I
can prepare the necessary information. If anyone is unable to attend the
meeting, I would also appreciate knowing so the appropriate arrangements
can be made for the meeting.
Once again, Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you all on January
17th at 8:30 a.m.

I, Jon Anderson, Planning Commission Chair, hereby request a special
meeting of the Planning Commission on Saturday, January 17, 1998, at
8:30 a.m.
The purpose of the meeting is conduct regular Planning Commission annual
business.
In accordance with State Statute, I hereby request the city clerk to post this
notice at least three days prior to the meeting date. I further request the city

meeting, in writing, at least one day before the meeting.
