Staff will take direction as to any concerns Council has on extension of sanitary sewer system along the
Great Northern Trail.
Background/Discussion
Consistent with our approved Memorandum of Understanding with Waste Management, we continue to
work towards a plan for the piping of their landfill leachate directly to our sanitary sewer system.
Attached is a draft figure showing the location of this line and the ownership of different components.
Staff has met with all affected city, Elk River Municipal Utility (ERMU), and Sherburne County
departments to review the concept.
Staff will provide further detail on the current option at the meeting.

There is no financial impact with this discussion.
