DISCUSSION:
• Had nine new residential services.
• Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits.
• Carr's tree trimming service has completed their portion of the tree trimming. We are
also wrapping up our tree trimming efforts.
• We hooked up the permanent service for Casey's gas station.
• We had a pole that was struck by a vehicle April 14 during the snow storm. This caused
an outage on a single phase tap on 225th Avenue and Baldwin Street.
• We had another vehicle that hit a pole on Highway 169 south of the landfill on April 21
which resulted in a grass fire and a momentary outage.
• In the process of installing communication cable, M&P Nexlevel bored into our three
phase underground wire by KleinBank in Otsego.
• We are changing out some street light fixtures to LED in part of Otsego. We are also
changing out the light fixtures on Highway 10 to LED.
• We are changing out some porcelain cutouts that are failing in the territory we acquired
from Connexus;the cutouts are being replaced with polymer cutouts.
• Russ Stuhr and Jeremy Lindberg attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association
(MMUA) Generation School held April 10-12 in Owatonna,MN.
• Chris Sumstad and Tony Hubbard attended the MMUA Substation School held April 17-
19 in Rochester, MN.
• I serve on the Electrical Line Worker Technology Program Advisory Board for the
Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Wadena, MN. At our recent
meeting, we received an update from the Academic Dean,talked through the existing
curriculum, and offered suggestions on ways to improve as the industry changes.
• Zac Johnson, Matt Schwartz and Curt Wark will be competing as a journeymen team at
the APPA Lineworkers Rodeo being held April 27 - 28 in Raleigh/Wake Forest,NC. I
will be a judge at the event and will also be attending the Engineering and Operations
Technical Conference immediately following the rodeo April 29 -May 2.
