Since then, a number of additions and alterations have been completed, the most recent in 19997. At that time, the church expanded to 41,000 square feet. Overview Over 100 children will be enrolled in the daycare and preschool. Existing classrooms in both levels of the church will be used. There will be no further expansion of the church • for these activities. The church will be offering two sessions of preschool, morning and afternoon, in the upper level of the church. One session will occur Tuesdays and Thursdays, the other Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The children will also have access to the gym, which is in the lower level. 13065 Orono Parkway • P.O. Parking/Access The parking lot contains 344 spaces, which exceeds that which is required by code. Access to the site is from School Street, with two driveways. Entry to the preschool area will likely occur at the upper level entrance on the west side of the church. Daycare area entry will likely occur at one of two entrances on the lower level on the east and south sides. There is adequate parking at all entrances to limit pedestrian and vehicle conflicts. Landscaping No additional landscaping is required with this application. The church, however, still • has outstanding landscape requirements from the 1997 approval that they are in the process of installing. Signage No additional signage is proposed at this time. Future signs will have to comply with the ordinance. Licensing The applicant must receive a license from the State in order to operate. The process to obtain this license has begun. Recommendation Staff recommends that the Planning Commission recommend approval of the request, CU 99-28, to allow a daycare and preschool with the following conditions: 1. THE APPLICANT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE STATE LICENSING GUIDELINES. 2.
