SUBJECT: Discuss Topics and Issues for Planning Commission
Workshop Meetings
As the Commission is aware from previous discussions, the City is re-codifying
the entire city code. The City has entered into a contract with Municipal Code
Corporation to update the city code by eliminating obsolete sections and bringing
the code into compliance with current federal and state statutes. A large portion
of this re-codification will, of course, be the zoning code. Staff has already begun
work on a new outline for the zoning code in terms of the district requirements
(see attached outline). Some of the other possible topics for Planning
Commission workshop meetings include:
• 1. Discuss combining single family residential districts (R1b — R1e).
2. Tree preservation standards
3. Focused area studies.
Request
The Commission is asked to discuss other possible workshop meeting topics.
