Background/Discussion
Derek Archambault,Assistant City Attorney, and Ron Nierenhausen, Chief of Police,will present why
parking violation citations should be issued under state statute and no longer under city ordinance.
Currently the Elk River Police Department issues citations for parking violations under city ordinance.
The Police Department and city attorney's office feels they should transition to issuing citations under the
state statute.
