Background/Discussion
The City Beautification Award serves to recognize those business owners,who have made an effort to
clean,repair,improve and enhance the overall esthetics of their property to maintain the beauty of their
neighborhood and surroundings.
The purpose of the award is to encourage community improvements, enhance our city's visual image and
economic vitality. From May through October, two winners will be chosen each month. All winners are
recognized at the November council meeting. Business owners will receive public recognition and an
award for making the city of Elk River beautiful! Businesses can be nominated for this award by others
within the community or they may nominate themselves.
The Beautification Committee is made up of five members; Chairperson Tamara Ackerman,DJ Bakken,
Ryan Hardin, Rhonda Magnussen, and Ann McCormick.
Tonight the EDA awarded CHOW Mixed Grill and BBQ.
