SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF REVIEW HELD IN THE
CITY OFFICE BUILDING
June 27, 1978 at 7:30 R.M.
The Elk River City Council met as the Board of Review at 7:30 P.M. June
27, 1978.
Members present: Mayor Madsen, Councilmembers otto, liRgeitI~m, Toth and
Duitsman. County Assessor Ty Bischoff and Glenn Powell were also in
attendance.
Mayor Madsen called the meeting of the Board of Review to order at 7:30 P.M.
Ty Bischoff explained how the property owners were taxed.
Donald Schumacher and John Bailey representing Cretex Companies Inc. met
vuth the Board requesting an explainationof their tax statement. No
action was taken.
Barb Kreuser met vuth the board requesting an expaaination of her increased
tax statement on her house and apartment.
Moved by Board member Otto and seconded by ~~ard member Toth to have the
Assessor reconsider dropping her valuatiorr~ $2,500.00. Motion unanimousily
carried by a vote of 4-0. -
Eldon Beard of 14214 190 Ave. N.W. met with the Board to reconsider his
assessed valueof his 4 acres of flood Plain land.
Moved by Board member Duitsman and seconded by Board member Toth to lower
his taxes to $400.00. Motion unanimousily carried by a vote of 4..()~
Andrew Horvath of 1141 Nile Lane met ~~th the Board to reconsider his taxes
of his 56 ft. lot.
Moved by Board member Toth and seconded by Board member Duitsman to lower
his assessed valuation of $3000.00 to $1,000.00. Motion unanimousily carried
by a vote of 4-0.
Gary Keifenhiem of 18239 Denver, met with the Board requesting an explaination
of his market valueof his house.
Moved by Board member Duitsman and seconded by Board member Toth to have
Glenn Powell recheck measurements of his home. Motion unanimousily carried
by a vote of 4-0.
Leo Carey of 1174 5th St. met with the Board regarding the assessed market
value of his property. No action vias taken as the Board felt that it
was a fair market value.
Hoved by Board member Toth and seconded by Board member Duitsman to adjourn.
Meeting adjourned at 10: 40 P. M.
