Council Meeting
March 7, 1977 at 7:30 p.m.
Members present Mayor Lundberg, Councilmember Konop and Otto.
The minutes of the February 22, 1977 meeting were reviewed, a spelling error was noted
and corrected then the minutes were approved as printed.
Moved by Councilmember Otto and seconded by Councilmember Konop approving North Central
Public Service Co. request to install plastic gas main extention on County Rd. 12 and on
County Rd. 13, East of TH. 169 as per drawing. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of
3-0.
Ken Parker representative of the Elk River Chamber of Commerce met with the Council re-
garding diseased tree-control :QTogram for the city. The Council suggested that the
Chamber check into what are the best type of trees for replacement also what are the pre-
vention methods recommended.
Councilmember Toth inattendance 8:00 p.m.
Moved by Councilmember Otto and seconded by Councilmember Toth approving the time change
request by McCombs-Knutson for the receiving of bids on the interseptor and treatment
plant from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the interseptor and 4:30 p.m. on the treatment plant
for March 21, 1977. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0.
Wayne Sames, and Paul Stevenson representatives of Dept. of Natural Resources met with the
Council regarding the scenic rivers ordinance. They would like to have the Planning
Commission appoint a committee to jointly work with the Dept. of Natural Resourses in
drafting an ordinance that could be suitable to the cities requirements for the scenic
river needs. The Council suggested that a representative of their dept. meElt with the
Planning Commission on March 28, 1977 at their regular monthly meeting to discuss their
request.
Greg Frank of McCombs-Knutson met with the Council requesting Council approval to call for
bid quotes for televising the sewage lines for March 18, 1977.
Moved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmember Konop authorizing the cities
engineering firm of McCombs-Knutson &. Associates to call for bid quotation for televising
the cities sewer lines, bids to be opened on March 18, 1977 at McCombs-Knutson office and
recommendation to be submitted to the City Council at their regular scheduled meeting on
March 21, 1977. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0.
No further business the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
