This report is a monthly highlight of department activities related to collaborations, strategic
planning, staff changes/developments, and park operations.
Riverfront Concert Series
The first concert of the Riverfront Concert Series at Rivers Edge Commons Park will be this
Thursday,June 14— The Rockin'Hollywoods will start off our series of ten concerts on Thursday
nights all summer long through August 23 (except for July 5).
The Bank of Elk River was recognized at the June 4 City Council meeting for the continued
sponsorship of the Concert Series. This is the second year of a three year contract for the Bank to
sponsor this popular community event.
Elk River Fest
Independence Day celebrations don't end on July 4 in our community—we're keeping the fun going
with the new Elk River Fest celebration on Saturday,July 7 in downtown Elk River. As you know,
there will be no fireworks on July 4, however after a full evening of family fun on July 7, Elk River
Fest will conclude with an amazing fireworks display at 10 pm. The fireworks will be launched from
Elk River High School.
Progress continues to be made on the planning for Elk River Fest on July 7. Enjoy family fun,
games,vendors, food, drinks, and live music at Rivers Edge Commons Park. The main
entertainment is a Buddy Holly tribute band The Night the Music Lived. First National Bank has agreed
to sponsor the entertainment. Event details continue to be updated on the city website
