DISCUSSION:
• In May,the locating department had a total of 721 locate tickets consisting of two
emergency tickets, 8 cancellations, 12 meetings, 649 normal tickets and 44 updated
tickets. This is a 159% increase in volume of tickets from the previous month. The
replacement locator truck arrived on May 10 and was placed in service the following
week.
• Electric Technicians continue with updating power bill, substation checks, disconnects,
reconnects, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as installing new meters for
commercial customers. Also, staff has been updating demand meters within Cycle #1
with the appropriate reset date. This is being done to more accurately reflect the actual
billing period. Staff reinstalled the repaired Beckwith LTC controller at the West
substation.
• The weekly meter reads continue to go well. The Side-Looker Antenna had to be
replaced due to a broken connector that was caused by the regular installation and
removal from the vehicle. Meter reading equipment was permanently installed into the
Explorer the 3rd week of May to help eliminate this problem. Staff continues to perform
meter audits throughout the system as time allows.
• On May 31, staff ran Engines 1, 2 & 3. Engine #4 has not been repaired yet. We are still
working on obtaining replacement locknuts.
• Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our
systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. The ArcGIS Server has been
configured and is up and running. We continue to gather GPS points as time allows.
