Action Requested
Approve,by motion, the hiring of Megan Knopik as full-time liquor store clerk effective June 27, 2018.
Background/Discussion
Upon the notice of retirement of one of our full-time liquor store clerks,we went to market to fill this
position. We received 21 applications and interviewed five candidates. Following background and
reference checks, staff recommends the hiring of Megan Knopik for this position.
For the past two and a half years,Ms. Knopik has been working as a lead liquor store clerk at Fridley
Liquor and previously worked five years as a supervisor at Central Park Liquor. Due to her 7-plus years of
experience working in municipal liquor stores,it is recommended that Ms. Knopik start at step D of pay
grade 1. All other pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
