Location 19947 Polk Street NW Lot 6, Block 4, Preserve Estates Attachments • Location Map • Site Plan Zoning/Land Use PUD, Planned Unit Development (Surrounding area is R1a, Single Family Residential) LR, Low Density Residential Analysis The applicant,who currently resides in Cincinnati Ohio,recently purchased a home in Elk River and will be moving in towards the end of May. They are requesting a Conditional Use Permit for a Private Kennel in order to keep five(5)dogs,all of which will be kept inside the home. In the R1a District, which surrounds the subject property, private kennels are IPallowed as a conditional use. Planning Commission/CU 02-15 May 28,2002 Page 2 • There currently is no fenced area on the property,but the applicant stated they would be installing a fence shortly after they move in. Recommendation Staff recommends that the Planning Commission recommend approval for a conditional use for a Private Kennel with the following conditions: 1. THAT THERE BE NO ON-SITE COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS BREEDING, BOARDING OR SELLING. 2. THAT THE ANIMAL WASTE BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. 3. THAT THE APPLICANT RECEIVES A PRIVATE KENNEL LICENSE FROM THE CITY COUNCIL. 4.
