I, Mark Pederson, Planning Commission Chair, hereby request a special meeting of
the Planning Commission Tuesday,July 8, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at Lions Park Center,
1104 Lions Park Drive, Elk River, Minnesota.
The purpose of the meeting is to conduct regular business.
In accordance with State Statute, I hereby request the city clerk to post this notice at
III least three days prior to the meeting date. I further request the city clerk to notify each
member of the Planning Commission of this special meeting, in writing, at least one
day before the meeting.

SUBJECT: Discuss Topics for Planning Commission Workshop Meeting
Attached are two staff reports, one for a montessori school and one regarding possible
changes to the Business Park and Industrial District standards. The Commission is being
asked make a formal recommendation to the City Council on the montessori school;the
4 Business Park and Industrial district standards is a discussion item.
The Commission will also have the opportunity to comment on concept plans for two
• potential residential developments. One is a single family/townhouse development south of
the golf course by Scott Breuer Homes,the other is an apartment development on the
Houlton property on the east side of Lions Park by Houlton Property Development,
Gifford Vincent. Concepts plans for both proposals will be handed out at the meeting.
