UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES
June 13, 1995
4 :00 P.M.
Present Were: George Zabee President
James Tralle Vice Chairman
John Dietz Trustee
Others Present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager
Bob McCartney Water Superintendent
Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent
1) The meeting was called to order at 4 :00 P.M. by President
Zabee.
2) Motion by Mr. Dietz, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the
agenda as amended. The Motion carried.
3) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz to approve the
minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion
carried.
4) The General Manager reported that the American Legion has asked
the Utilities to donate the cost of an underground electric
service at the Soldiers Memorial on Highway 10. The value of
the donation would be approximately $350 .00. Motion by Mr.
Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz to donate an underground service
to the American Legion at the Soldiers Memorial. The motion
carried.
5 ) Bob Palmquist of Associated Consultants presented the
Commissioners with a preliminary copy of the generation study
conducted by his firm. He discussed and presented the report.
Staff will study the report and make recommendations to the
Commissioners at a later meeting.
6) The Line Superintendent reviewed the status of construction
projects and other operating conditions.
7 ) The General Manager reviewed the May financial statements with
the Commissioners.
8) The General Manager reported that there has been an attempt
by the attorney for Anda Construction to subrogate the
utilities in the electrocution lawsuit. The matter has been
turned over to the insurance company and the City Attorney.
9) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz, to approve the
check register.
10) Mr. Dietz and Mr. Zabee requested a review of the disconnect
policy at the next meeting.
11) The General Manager presented four options to place the line
along Hiway 10 underground and the costs associated with each
of these options. Staff was directed to obtain further
information and report back to the Commissioners.
12) Mr. Dietz asked for more background on the entities included
in the salary survey.
13) The next meeting was set for Tuesday, July 11, 1995 at 4 :00
P.M. at the Utilities office.
14) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz to adjourn. The
motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 P.M.
