UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES
January 4, 1994
3 :00 P.M.
Present Were: James Tralle President
James Simpson Vice Chairman
George Zabee Trustee
Others Present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager
Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent
Bob McCartney Water Superintendent
Terry Maurer City Engineer
1) The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. by President
Tralle.
2) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the
agenda as amended. The Motion carried.
3) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the
minutes of the previous meeting. The motion carried.
4) The General Manager reported on the status of negotiations
regarding the Clinkscales Trust property.
5) Terry Maurer reported that the following Bids were received for
Well #5 which will be located at the new water tower in
Hillside Estates:
Mark J Traut Wells $102,940
E.H. Renner & Sons $129,695
Layne Minnesota $131,630
Bergerson-Casswell $152,705
The Engineer recommended that we accept the low bid submitted
by Mark J Traut Wells. Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr.
Simpson that the contract for Well #5 be awarded to Mark J.
Traut Wells in the amount of $102,940. The motion carried.
6) The General Manager reviewed a billing situation with Elk River
Machine. The Commissioners expressed a desire to respond by
letter to Elk River Machine.
7 ) The Line Superintendent updated the Commissioners on the status
of construction projects and other operating conditions.
9) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson, to approve the
check register.
10) The next meeting was set for Tuesday, February 1, 1994 at 3:00
P.M. at the Utilities office.
14 ) Motion by Mr. Simpson , seconded by Mr. Zabee to adjourn. The
motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 4 :45 P.M.
